Katherine McCauley fused masterfully watercolor on hand made torn paper with burnt marks, into a textural paper construction. The upside down Y shape suggests an erected tree trunk with roots burnt, reminiscent of the sacrificial ritual of distant tribe; thus, the title "Offering". Together with " Gentle Descent", the artworks are installed in the atrium of the Governmental Center West.
"Influence of primitive civilization seen in burnt materials, suggesting fire. Color is archaic."
