Airport Entrance Closed From Northbound US 1
Effective: July 11, 2014
FLL 2014-35

Airport entrance closed from US 1 northbound
  • Closure until 7 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014.
  • Northbound US 1 entrance to the airport is closed due to construction.
  • Detour: Continue north on US 1 and make a U-turn to southbound US 1 airport entrance.
  • Directional signs will also indicate the alternative route.

Pedestrian Safety

 Pedestrians should only use the crosswalks  

For the safety of our employees and traveling public, DO NOT JAYWALK  Use Pedestrian Crosswalks !

“Jaywalking – to illegal or recklessly cross a roadway outside of a designated walkway as a pedestrian.”
 


Update

  • Pedestrians needing to access Terminal 3 from the Palm Garage must use the pedestrian crosswalk located on the southernmost end of Terminal 3.
  • Pedestrians needing to access the Palm Garage from Terminal 3 must also use the pedestrian crosswalk located on the southernmost end of Terminal 3.
  • Safety of all FLL pedestrians and vehicle drivers is one of our top priorities.
  • No pedestrian shall cross a roadway except in a marked crosswalk. 

Note

  • Violators Are Subject To Fine- pedestrians who are not using provided crosswalks.
  • Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) will issue warnings for jaywalking until June 19th, 2014.
  • Starting June 20th, 2014 BSO will issue the fine associated with the jaywalking citation.

  • 6 – 9 a.m. Gate 100 and Garages.
  • 24/7 GTA 4 upper level. Vehicle must be attended at all times.
  • All vehicles are subject to security inspection. 
  • Between now and November 25th, our enforcement will be reminding drivers of the forthcoming policy.
  • This policy will be in full effect on November 25, 2013.

  • Inter Terminal Loop & Airport Economy Parking Shuttle stops will relocate from the terminal curbside to the outer terminal area and GTAs.
  • Terminal 4 & 3: Thursday October 10, 2013 - The work will begin shortly after the last arrival, approximately 1 a.m.
  • Terminal 2 & 1: Friday October 11, 2013 - The work will begin shortly after the last arrival, approximately 1 a.m.

Lower Level Terminal 4 Roadway Restriction and GTA-4 Closure

  • Single Lane Restriction - Overnight from 12 a.m. until 8 a.m. through November 30, 2013.
  • The signage and MOT will be placed so as to not restrict curbside movement.
  • Barricades will be pulled back to allow normal traffic during daytime hours.
