Holiday Travel Tips

Arrive at the Airport Early
If you plan on traveling over the holidays you should arrive at least two hours early during busy times. That would include early morning, mid-day and late afternoon. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, (FLL), has free wireless internet available throughout all four terminals with plenty of food choices. There are also several areas where you can relax while waiting for your flight.

In the Bag
Familiarize yourself with the new rules for carry on luggage. The Transportation Security Administration, (TSA), is promoting 3-1-1. That's 3 ounces or less size containers for liquids and gels placed in a 1 quart size clear plastic zip-lock bag. Only one bag per traveler placed in the security bin. You should have the bag removed from your carry on luggage before you approach the TSA checkpoint. Still have questions? Visit the TSA's website.

Parking Advice
If you want to park at the airport, allow enough time to find a space. You may not find parking in your favorite garage if you arrive late. If traveling with family or friends, drop them off at the curb first and leave your luggage with them. That way when you park you have less to worry about.

Plan Ahead
Don't forget to suspend your mail and your newspaper. Leave a car in your driveway and use a timer to turn your interior lights on and off while you're away. By following these suggestions your holidays are more likely to be stress free, at least when it comes to the travel portion. Have a safe and happy holiday season.

Lost and Found

If you lost the item on the airplane, please contact your air carrier. If you lost an item in any other area of the airport including a security checkpoint, please contact the Airport Lost and Found Office at 954-359-2247. You may also contact us via e-mail at The Office is located in the Rental Car Center on Level 2 past the elevators.

FLL will keep all items for 30 days. After 30 days, the property is considered abandoned and disposed of according to Florida Statutes.
