Literary Arts Workshops Literary Arts Workshops take participants beyond the communications limits of language and expresses difficult ideas through Poetry, Spoken Word, Story/Narratives and metaphor, while creating indelible images. The Literary Arts Workshops are intended to be transformative by spreading awareness about the power of arts in education and art as activism, which transforms lives. Youth from all walks of life and age groups are the intended and justified target population of this project.
A key intent is to explore ways youth can be expressive and inform one about ideas, the creative process, communication abilities and educating through the literary arts. This serves as an alternate form of activism and different role models can offer support through sharing and dialogue.

Interpretive Art Workshops Interpretive Art Workshops (Performance Art & Theatre). Youth from all walks of life and age groups are the intended and justified target population of this project.
Structured workshops will be provided for artistic development and performance opportunities. Participants will acquire discipline, performance, presentation and critical thinking skills. Attendees will be able to enhance their skill sets with a focus on cultural relevance, competence and human development, while honing their cooperative abilities and becoming effective social beings. Workshop attendees present a culminating performance as a collective. Workshops include theater exercises and activist theatre techniques as well as the incorporation of media and other art forms to encourage the process.

Dance Diverse genres of dance coupled with experimental choreography developed from original dance theatre and written compositions by the facilitator and presenter (Alexis Caputo) and the students are explored and developed for residencies, workshops and stage presentations. Attendees will present a culminating performance as a collective.
International dancers and choreographers who have choreographed Alexis Caputo’s compositions are Marie Allen-Minto/Body Nation Dance Theatre, Michelle Grant-Murray/Front Street Dancers, Luctricia Welters/Jubilee Dance Theatre, Narsha Cummings, Christal Brown/Inspirit Dance Company, Nuria Carrassco-Dominguez, Nancy Putnam-Smithner and Marcus Pugh.
