Cultural Investment Program
Overview

The purpose of this program is to assist eligible Broward-based, not-for-profit cultural organizations, that have been operational in their cultural disciplines for a minimum of two years immediately preceding the date of application. Funding may be used for reimbursable program expenses associated with the presentation and/or production of a regular season of exhibitions, programs, events or performances open to the general public in Broward County. The workshop will also cover submission of online applications.

 

An organization must have a 501c (3) status with the IRS, and documented yearly Broward revenue of at least $40,000 to be eligible for funding.  The application workshop is designed for ongoing and perspective applicants to the Cultural Investment Program to learn about eligibility requirements. Organizations such as Brazilian Voices, Inc.; Sistrunk Historical Festival, The Girl Choir of South Florida, and Island City Stage, Inc. have received funding through this program.

 

Matching Funds: Not required.

Award Size: On a funds available basis, awards between: $10,000 - $80,000. An organization must have documented yearly revenues of at least $40,000 to be eligible for funding. No award may exceed twenty-five percent of the applicant's documented Broward County operating revenue.

Designation Required.
Designation deadline:
November 2020 for Fiscal Year 2022 funding.

Application Submission Deadline:  February 1​, 2020 at 11:59 PM for fiscal year 2021 funding, and February 7, 2021 for Fiscal Year 2022 funding.


 Applications must be filed online: Any application filed online must be filed by 11:59 p.m. on the date of the deadline listed for each program. If such deadline falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the deadline shall automatically become 11:59 p.m. the following Monday, except if that Monday or the deadline falls on a Broward County, State of Florida, or national (federal) holiday, the deadline will become 11:59 p.m. of the following business day. The award of funding is subject to the availability of funds from the County. All awards are paid on a reimbursement basis to contingent upon awardee's successful completion of the project or program and meeting the requirements of the agreement.
