The suite of ceramic artwork, adorning the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services Center is comprised of twelve components. At the front façade wall and the back wall of the building, one sees pineapple motif scones, corner scones and one large medallion. There are also four large ceramic panels flanking the back entryway to the building. Miami based artist Carlos Alves fused recycled ceramic tiles and glass to transform them into this glazed artwork.
"The mission of the artwork created was to act as visual calming elements and serve as a metaphor for patient's growth to final new support system resulting in a sense of community. The work was created as a pleasant and serene addition to the drug abuse facility. It refers to the theme of Transformation and Rejuvenation that was chosen by the Center"
