The kick-off event took place on January 23 at the Broward County Main Library. It was an evening to remember. It marked an official point in the Year 2006—the moment that the County proclaimed 2006 as The Year of Public Art.
"The first time that an entire year was dedicated to anything in my history with the County,” said Commissioner Diana Wasserman-Rubin as she read the proclamation.
