BECON's mission is to use broadcast television and the most current technologies to develop and deliver quality multi-media instructional, educational and community programming to enhance student achievement and life-long learning.

Under the BECON umbrella you'll find BECON-TV (WPPB) a community broadcast station that airs educational, family-oriented programming throughout South Florida; WKPX Radio, a student produced radio station found on the dial at 88.5 FM; Distance Learning which includes, virtual field trips for students to interesting places around the world and a full online middle and high school where students can earn a high school diploma online (Broward Virtual School); a full television production studio; print and video graphics; and development of award-winning educational programming.
