The Museum of Discovery and Science is a private, non profit facility whose mission is to provide experiential pathways to lifelong learning in science for children and adults through exhibits, programs and films.

The 85,000 sq. ft. museum features over 200 hands-on exhibits, traveling exhibits, and a 300 seat IMAX Theater with both 2D and 3D films. Exhibits include:, Florida EcoScapes, the Coral Reef, Gizmo City, Gems and Minerals, Great Gravity Clock, Mars Rover, Living in the Everglades, Eternal Egypt,  Virtual Volleyball and Runways to Rockets: Our Place in Aerospace and the Aviation Station.  The Museum will be adding a major Health Exhibit in late 2010 as well as a Go Green exhibit, and opening a 31,000 square foot/$25 million new wing, the EcoDiscovery Center, in late 2011. The EcoDiscovery Center will include a two-story Live Otter exhibit, a Virtual Airboat Tour of the Everglades, Storm Center, Florida Water Story and Learning Center with four new classroom/labs. Current programs include outreach; live animal shows, live science demonstrations and labs, holiday and summer science camps, teacher training seminars, lectures and birthday parties.
