Purpose: To provide the local and surrounding communities with quality entertainment and cultural events at an affordable price. To educate as well as entertain the public on the visual and performing arts. To showcase local and regional performing arts groups as well as touring shows. To provide theater classes and a performance workshop for children, ages 6 - 17, every season.
Projects: The City of Sunrise offers year ‘round programs to the public in the Civic Center Theatre, including classical, jazz, blues, and rock concerts, plays, musicals, children’s shows, seasonal programs, multicultural and world music programs, and film. Show times are usually Friday evenings, Saturday matinees, Saturday evenings, and occasionally Sunday matinees. Five free concerts are also offered annually in the amphitheater between January and May.
