JANUARY 

Notice of Funding Availability:  Rural Capacity Building for Community Development and Affordable Housing program will make $5 million available for capacity building activities for national organizations with expertise in rural housing, including experience working with rural housing organizations, local governments, and Indian tribes. It is the Department’s intent to fund a mix of applicants with demonstrated skills to carry out the eligible activities related to affordable housing and community development.  Read More...  Applications available at grants.gov  Deadline is January 22, 2013. 

Public Notice:  The Housing Finance Authority of Broward County (HFA) is accepting Multi-Family Bond Program applications from applicants who are interested in utilizing the HFA’s tax exempt and or taxable private activity bond allocation for the acquisition, construction, and/or rehabilitation of multi-family rental housing developments which satisfy the goals and requirements of the HFA and comply with applicable federal and state law.  Read more...  Deadline is January 25, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. 

FEBRUARY

Request for Public Comments: Town of Davie has a Draft of their Annual Action Plan of the Consolidated Plan for FY 2013-2014 available for public review and the City will receive written comments through July 9. A public hearing will be held July 17, 2013. The Draft can be seen at the Town's Housing and Community Development Office at 4700 SW 64th Avenue, Suite D. Notice of Funding Availability:  The City of Dania Beach invites homeowners to apply for interest-free deferred loans to fix roof, windows or doors.  Funds are from the Disaster Recovery Initiative/Home Hardening Assistance program.  No repayment of loan if program requirements are met.  Assistance is provided on a first-qualified/first-served basis. Deadline is February 18.

 

MARCH

Notice of Public Hearing:   The Housing Finance Authority of Broward County will hold a public hearing on March 5, 2013, 9:00 a.m. at the Authority's office (110 NE 3rd Street, Fort Lauderdale) to discuss a plan of financing.  All interested persons are invited to attend either personally or through their representatives and may present oral or written comments and discussion concerning the proposed plan of financing and the nature and location of future projects.

Request for Proposal -Developers:   Florida Housing Finance Corporation is authorized by section 420.507(48), F.S., to use up to 10 percent of its annual allocation of low-income housing tax credits to allocate by competitive solicitation for high priority affordable housing developments. This Request for Proposals (RFP) is open to Applicants proposing the development of affordable, multifamily housing involving Public Housing Authority (PHA) revitalization (consisting of Rehabilitation or Redevelopment) in medium and small counties.   Deadline is May 24, 2013.  

 

JUNE

Request for Public Comments:  Coral Springs  is looking for comments about the proposed amendment to the Community Development Block Grant program (CDBG) Neighborhood stabilization program 3 (NSP3) FY2010-2011.  The City of Coral Springs Commission will meet Wednesday June 5, 2013, at 9:00 a.m. to review the proposed amendment to the FY 2010-2011 Action Plan. The meeting will occur in the Commission Chambers at City Hall, located at 9551 West Sample Road, Coral Springs, Florida 33065. Interested parties are encouraged to attend and participate. 

Open Enrollment:  The Lauderhill Housing Authority is holding a registration for people interested in purchasing one of twelve single-family homes.  Applicants must be very low, low or moderate income families and first-time homebuyers (or not purchased within the past 3 years).  Enrollment runs Monday, June 10, 2013 thru Friday, June 15, 2013.  Click here to register www.lauderhillha.com
