Broward County Provided Shelter to More Than 220 Homeless

More than 220 homeless men, women and children received shelter and meals during the cold weather emergency advisory issued for the evening of January 6 for Broward County. Broward County's Homeless Initiative Partnership, charged with maintaining a countywide continuum of care for the homeless, had four facilities open from 6:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. The homeless were served at both the North, South and Central Homeless Assistance Centers as well as the Salvation Army.
