Week of September 1: Animal Care celebrates Labor Day with specials for government workers.
Week of September 8: NFL Week. Adopt a "Coach Potato Buddy" to watch this season’s games.
Week of September 15: Have some Hot Diggity Dog fun when the Dog-Eat-Dog Food Truck comes to town.
Week of September 22: Cool down with a scoop of ice cream from the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream cart.
Week of Charlie Brown and Snoopy: Take your picture with Snoopy and celebrate the world’s most popular beagle.

IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU!

Poisonings from medication mistakes and misuse are the leading cause of accidental deaths in Florida. By calling 800-222-1222, you can receive immediate expert advice from Florida’s Poison Control Helpline. More than 80 percent of calls can be treated over the phone. The helpline is available 24/7.

ALL GOOD THINGS....

This month we celebrate Labor Day, a day to recognize the achievements of American workers. If you have lived in District 6 for any length of time chances are you know my longtime aide Dee Platt. She has been my aide since you first elected me to serve on the County Commission and retired on August 31 after thirty five years of service to Broward County. Dee has assisted thousands of Broward residents with dedication and enthusiasm and will be greatly missed by me and everyone who has worked with her. I’m sure that all of you will join me in wishing Dee the very best in all of her future endeavors! Nancy and Eric will still be here and will be joined full-time by Stephen Popiel.

The Jewish High Holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are observed in September. To those who celebrate the Holiday, I wish you a Happy Rosh Hashanah and an easy fast on Yom Kippur.
