2012 Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Claims ˗˗ Use It or Lose It Reminder

Unlike the Health Reimbursement Account (HRA), Flexible Spending Accounts (dependent day care or medical expense) do not rollover each year. Submit your unreimbursed 2012 FSA claims for dental, vision and pharmacy to FBMC now to avoid the year-end delay due to high volume. Although claims can be submitted through March 31, 2013, the expense must be incurred prior to December 31, 2012. If you don’t use all the money in your 2012 FSA, your remaining balance will be forfeited and will not be refunded.

Itemized receipts for all expenses must be submitted along with the claim form if you are filing a paper claim. Check your account balance, review your claim status and review charges requiring documentation, see when your claim was paid and more by logging onto myfbmc.com. The combined FSA/HRA claim form is available on the BC-Net under the Forms Tab, Human Resources, Employee Benefit Services.

Reminder: FSA Medical Expense Account contribution maximum limit is reduced to $2,500 for 2013.
