Jump Jivin’ Gala was a Swinging Night for AARLCC

The African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC) was the “jumping off” site for an elegant dinner party on October 20, celebrating AARLCC’s 10th Anniversary. The party moved next door to the Urban League of Broward County for the “Jump Jivin’ Gala.” The party’s theme was based on the library’s Fabulous Forties on the Avenue exhibit, a yearlong tribute to the accomplishments of the African-American community in Fort Lauderdale during the late 1940s.The exhibit will be open through December 2012.

The gala event was attended by AARLCC patrons, guests and Libraries Division staff members. It was sponsored by AARLCC and the Friends of the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center. The event helped increase awareness of AARLCC’s role in the community and funding for future programs.
