Course Description:
This 5 day course prepares participants to deliver the Emergency Management Institute's (EMI) ICS-300: Intermediate Incident Command System, ICS-400: Advanced Incident Command System and G-191: ICS/EOC Interface Workshop.
Participants must have a working knowledge of ICS through experience and training, be experienced in adult training, and/or agree to deliver the field version(s) of EMI’s ICS curricula.
Prerequisites:
Participants must have completed the following Incident Command System (ICS) courses prior to start of this course. Proof of completion will be required in order to be retained for this course.
· ICS/IS-100 - Introduction to the Incident Command System
· ICS/IS-200 - Basic Incident Command System
· ICS-300 - Intermediate Incident Command System
ICS-400 - Advanced Incident Command System
· IS-700 - An Introduction to the National Incident Management System (FEMA certificate required)
· IS-800 - An Introduction to the National Response Plan (FEMA certificate required)
In addition to the L-449 certificate, students will also receive the G-265 Basic Instructional Delivery Skills Certificate. G-265 prepares the participant to assist with State delivered training and covers preparation, presentation, and evaluation skills. In addition, participants will be able to incorporate the needs of training participants into their training delivery.
NOTE: Students must have taken either, the Emergency Management Institute (EMI), National Fire Academy or National Wildfire Coordinating Group ICS courses. Other ICS courses (on-line versions) will be reviewed for consistency with the ICS objectives prescribed by the NIMS Integration Center.
NOTE: Persons who previously completed E449 can deliver EMI's revised ICS curriculum without repeating/taking this L-449 course.
Important: Upon completion of the online registration, the applicant must submit a completed FEMA/EMI 119-25-1 Application Form along with all of the prerequisite certificates to the Course Manager, Thomas Robinson either by fax at 850-488-6250 or by email (Thomas.Robinson@em.myflorida.com). Applicants will not be placed on the approved participant list until the FEMA Form 119-25-1 application and prerequisite certificates are received, reviewed, and approved. It is recommended that the participants upload/scan all of their required course certificates directly into their SERT TRAC accounts. Participants must have a working knowledge of ICS through experience and training, have experience as instructors, and/or agree to deliver the field version(s) of EMI’s ICS curricula. The course is designed for participants whose duties or interests may require them to become instructors for their agency, municipality, county, or region. Course participants who would benefit from this training include those from:
