What We Do

The County’s fleet is comprised of approximately 2,500 vehicles and equipment which includes but is not limited to cars, trucks, SUV’s, vans, medium/heavy trucks, trailers, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, sweepers, vac-trucks, specialized service equipment, and boats. The Fleet Services Division operates as an internal service fund. The Division charges its customers for fleet-related services such as maintenance repairs, parts, and fueling services. Each of the various cost centers are self-supporting and the pricing structure for each service is determined by a rate model which takes into account all associated costs for that task. The cost of each service is compared to external sources to ensure they are in-line with commercially available alternatives.

Fleet Services partners with local vendors to provide specialized services such as towing, body shop repairs, transmission repairs, as well as larger more time consuming repairs. This enables Fleet Services to focus on preventative maintenance services as well as light line repairs to maintain a high level of vehicle and equipment availability.
