Family Success Administration is providing a few basic tools to help you understand how to prepare and manage your family's budget. These budgeting resources explain the budget process and help you set priorities to reach your goals.

Budget Video: Learn How to Make and Keep a Budget

This video teaches you how to develop and maintain your budget. Learn how to track your income and expenses, evaluate techniques for handling an income shortfall or unexpected expense and analyze the cost/benefit of different options. You will also learn budgeting tools and how to create a budget book spreadsheet. Video / PowerPoint Presentation 

To further your understanding, review a fictitious budget scenario for a single mother named Margaret. Then, take a look at Margaret’s family budget book to see how expenses are categorized and the cash flow available.

Budget Workbook: How to Prepare Your Budget Book
