During the Event

If you experience an emergency with your pregnancy in the middle of an emergency event, such as a hurricane:

  • Call 911. Know that 911 may not be able to respond immediately, based on conditions.
  • Bring any medications you are currently taking, including prenatal vitamins and prescriptions.
  • Keep a copy of your prenatal medical records with you and contact information for your health care provider in case you need to visit another provider.
  • Wear comfortable shoes.
  • Pack snacks.
  • Pack extra maternity clothes for yourself, including undergarments.
