With your library card, you can access the library's databases remotely. The following databases might be helpful in creating a business plan, marketing or other business research needs. To access them from home or work, go to broward.org/library. Once there, select “Reference Databases”. That will take you to a listing of all of the library's databases. Select “Business & Investments” and choose from the following databases:
Business and Company Resource Center
Database for business and industry information including domestic and international company information and histories, investment reports, rankings, and brand and product information
Detailed listing of millions of businesses with the ability to search by company name, type of business, geography, business size and more. Could be useful in creating a business plan or conducting a market analysis.
Find detailed information on: Businesses - Company name, address, city, state, zip code, county, phone and fax numbers, number of employees, headquarter and subsidiary information, contact names, financial information, credit rating, ABI number, ticker symbol, and website. Consumers - First, last and middle names, address, city, state, zip code, phone number, median home value, median household income, latitude and longitude, and percentage of owner occupied housing in the area.

Articles from more than 800 business, management and trade publication, including The Wall Street Journal, The Asian Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. Try tailoring a search to fit your information need like "hair salons" or "market research and restaurants."
