Preserving Stories of Local Veterans
Share Your Experience
Broward County Library’s Special Collections invites veterans of the United States military to be interviewed via video recording at the
Main Library in Fort Lauderdale. Gold Star Family members, defined as the immediate family of veterans who died as a result of active service during a period of war, are also welcome to participate in this free project.
Create Your Legacy
Completed video recordings will be preserved in Broward County Library’s Special Collections and will be accessible to the public. In addition, recordings potentially may become part of the Veterans History Project (VHP) of the Library of Congress. The VHP stores and makes contributors’ videos available for viewing and research at the Library of Congress American Folklife Center Reading Room in Washington, DC.
