A Road Map for Pier Research on Methods to Assess and Mitigate Impacts of Wind Energy Development on Birds and Bats in California (PDF): October 2008. This 106 page report prepared for the California Energy Commission summarizes the status of research on the impacts of wind energy development on birds and bats and recommends studies to improve methods for assessing and reducing these impacts in California. Chapter 3 is especially helpful in describing the scientific literature on the topic.
