Every summer for years Broward County Parks and Recreation has encouraged local youth to express their cultural abilities at the Star Time Talent Showcase.  Broward County Parks and Recreation summer programs promote dancing, singing, stepping, poetry reading, or whatever talent the children want to develop in order to compete in the annual show. This year's talent competition also included summer recreation participants from the City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation.

The following photos were taken of the participants as they competed for a chance to appear in the finals at the Parkway Middle School Performing Arts Center on July 28, 2011. All the children who participated in the program are "winners," with the final placements from the competition available here: 2011 Star Time.

The 2012 Broward Star Time Talent Show will be taking place on July 26, 2012 at the Dillard High School Auditorium. The show starts at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
