Model Airplane Field

The Markham Park airfield offers more than 50 acres of ground space for takeoff and landing of remote-control model planes and helicopters. With the recently extended and renovated runway, this airfield is one of the finest in the country! Numerous events are hosted throughout the year by the various clubs and organizations affiliated with the park. An Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) license and a Markham Park flying badge/card (available at park office) are required to fly at the field. ​

Airfield Rules

Use of the airfield also requires an annual membership. Clubs and organizations affiliated with the airfield include the Markh​​am Park Pilots Association, which you can contact by email at MPPApilo​ts@gmail.com. Fly Right Inc. offers radio-control pilot instruction at the airfield. Fees range from $30 for a one-hour individual session to $599 for a five-day pro-pilot course. For more information about this training, contact Fly Right at 954-816-​4410.​
