The Vulnerable Population Registry is for residents who are at risk due to disability, frailty or health issues, regardless of age, who elect to stay at home in the event of a hurricane or other emergency. Public safety officials in your city may use the Vulnerable Population Registry to assist for planning purposes only in their response to an emergency and does not guarantee that you will be provided assistance. Depending on the city, the information may be requested for use by emergency responders for the purpose of evaluating your needs. 

After a hurricane or other emergency, residents may experience prolonged power and phone outages. Some may not be able to leave their apartments to get assistance because the elevators are not functioning or let anyone know that they are in need.

The Vulnerable Population Registration was designed as a joint partnership between all municipalities and Broward County to assist emergency responders to better plan for future recoveries from hurricanes and other emergencies. Registering into the database should not be considered as a guarantee that you will be provided services or be placed on a priority list for emergency responders; however, it will help us to be better prepared to respond after an emergency.

You can register online or by calling 311 in Broward or 954-831-4000 (TTY 954-831-3940), or your city's emergency management agency. All the information provided will be held in the strictest confidence as required by State law.
