For Residents of Multifamily Complexes in the Broward Municipal Services District (formerly called "Unincorporated Broward")

Multifamily complexes in the Broward Municipal Services District are required to have a residential recycling program. Contracts must be in place with Waste Pro for the provision of solid waste and recycling services.

Put all recyclable items in the same cart(s):

  • Newspapers, inserts, catalogs, magazines, junk mail, office paper, soft-covered books, file folders, soda cartons and crushed boxes from items such as cereal, tissues, rice and pasta
  • Cardboard from non-food items such as moving or shipping boxes
  • Plastic bottles and jugs such as milk, water, detergent and shampoo containers
    (narrow necks only)
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Milk, juice cartons and drink boxes
  • Aluminum and steel food and beverage containers

Do not put these items in your cart or bin(s):

  • Plastic bags or plastic wrap
  • Styrofoam or plastic take-out containers or trays
  • Certain glass products including window and auto glass, light bulbs, mirrors, glass cookware, bakeware or ceramics
  • Scrap metal or aluminum foil
  • Household garbage
  • Food-contaminated paper or cardboard, or waxed cardboard
  • Pizza boxes
  • Flower pots or other gardening plastics
  • Miscellaneous plastics (toys, cups, etc.)
  • Garden hoses
  • Holiday lights
  • Rechargeable batteries
  • Electronic waste or accessories
  • Small appliances
  • Medical or pharmaceutical waste or supplies
  • Paints, solvents, herbicides and pesticides
  • Waste such as gas cylinders, tanks, flammables
  • Rocks, dirt, building debris
