Broward County Cultural Division Lifeline Grant Program

The Broward County Cultural Division received a grant of $250,000 for salary assistance of local arts organizations and funding to support arts projects and activities that preserve jobs in the arts.  The grant is a provision of President Obama’s economic stimulus package—American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  The Arts & American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Public Law 111-5 (“Recovery Act”) through the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). 

Funds must be used to preserve jobs for staff, or fees for artistic contractual services that have been eliminated, or will be eliminated, prior to September 30, 2009
National Endowment for the Arts (development and fund raising positions are not eligible for funding).

Application Deadline:  August 31, 2009, Midnight
Matching Funds: non-matching
Award Size: Minimum of $5,000

GRANTEES (sub-grantees) are required to report Quarterly to the Broward Cultural Division on their use of the Broward Cultural Division Lifeline Grant Program from the National Endowment for the Arts’ The Arts & American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 "Recovery Act".

NOTE:  Organizations that have already received ARRA funding directly from the NEA, or the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs are not eligible.

Eligible Applicants: Broward County Cultural Not-for-Profit organizations currently funded through the Cultural Diversity Program (CDP), or the General Operating Program (GOP), or the Major Cultural Institution Program (MCI) from FY 2007 through FY 2010 that have not received NEA American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds from another source, either from the Arts Endowment directly, or the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs.
