The Broward County Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) coordinates and supports multiple activities each year to promote business expansion on a global scale. Typical events include inbound and outbound missions - to stimulate imports and exports - and trade seminars, to educate Broward-based small businesses on global opportunities.
Broward Business Briefing: Business Opportunities in Chile - February 21, 2013
The OESBD and its partners provided an overview of the upcoming trade mission to Chile, the Chilean economy and the top products in demand in the region. The purpose of the briefing was to educate and inform potential trade mission attendees on the benefits of doing business with Chile and to provide details for the May 20-23, 2013 mission.
2012 Export Readiness Seminar Series - February 8, 15, and 22, 2012
This new installment of the annual three-part educational series was designed to help local companies grow by identifying their export potential. This year's series is co-sponsored by Broward College and the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce. A certificate of attendance will be presented by the Broward College Institute for Economic Development to all attendees who complete each of the three sessions.

2011 Export Readiness Seminar - September 13, 20 and 27, 2011
This FREE three-part seminar was designed to educate Broward County business on how to start exporting. Upon completion of the seminar, participants can assess their readiness to export, conduct market research to identify desired markets, understand the basics of developing an export plan, and comply with foreign and domestic regulations. The 2011 Export Readiness Seminar was co-sponsored by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and Broward College. A certificate of attendance presented by the Broward College Institute for Economic Development will be issued to all individuals who completed each of the three sessions.
