Welcome back to school!
As part of ongoing efforts to educate children about the value of environmental protection, the Broward County Pollution Prevention, Remediation & Air Quality Division (PPRAQD) is incorporating character education into its outreach efforts. Character education is a tool being used by the School Board of Broward County, to educate children about good character.
Each month, Broward County teachers focus on a different character trait and incorporate that trait into their daily classroom activities and plans. In keeping with this theme, PPRAQD has related these core values to environmental protection. You can learn more about environmental activities related to each type of character trait by clicking on each link in the apple’s core below. Character is the core of our lives.

Character Education Newsletter Teachers Survey Responses:
“I was happy to see an environmental focus for Kids of Character. Often the young people in the home are the agents for change within their families.”
William Dandy Middle School
"I use info and activities from all the newsletters. They are great!"
Gulfstream Middle School
"Although I tend to use mine a little different because I teach math, I like to relate graphs, etc. into areas that the students are interested in. You provide that in a refreshing way that provides more time for me to teach since the subject is relevant and timely."
