"Oh, Behave!"
- Classes in basic dog obedience at Plantation Heritage Park -
WHAT: Imagine teaching your dog basic commands - sit, down, come, stay, heel - to the beat of your favorite tunes from the '80s and theme songs from your favorite movies and television shows. That's the idea behind Oh Behave™ Group Dog Obedience Lessons, a six-week program running on Saturday mornings at Plantation Heritage Park beginning on August 29 at 9 a.m.
This positive, reward-based program for dogs at least 5 months of age will address such problem behaviors as jumping up, leash pulling, and play biting. The fee is $110 per dog, and there must be at least one adult handler per dog. Dogs must have current proof of rabies vaccination, and no aggressive dogs are allowed. Dog owners should bring a nylon buckle collar, a six-foot leash (no retractable leashes allowed), and a bag of their pet's favorite treats. The class will meet in the parking lot adjacent to the park office. To download the required registration forms and information packet, go to www.ohbehavedogtraining.com. For additional information, call 954-587-2711 or e-mail dawnhanna@ohbehavedogtraining.com.
"This shady and beautiful location has tails wagging and humans smiling," Oh Behave™ owner Dawn Hanna says of Plantation Heritage. "I'm really excited to continue offering this class designed for lots of fun and learning." Hanna is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers.
