| Changing Character of Broward |
|
With the release of Census 2000, results show that Broward County changed more than anticipated. In addition to the significant increase in population, the composition of the population changed to reflect an ever increasing level of diversity.
This report presents much of the information that defines that change by displaying data from Census 2000 (April 1, 2000) and from complementary sources. Four general categories of demographic information highlight recent trends, current status, and expectations for the future. These categories include: population, household, housing and economic characteristics. The purpose of this report is to supply some insight into the demographic view of Broward County.
