Admissions

​BARC provides Assessment, Detoxification, Residential, and Outpatient Services to men and women aged 18 years and older. Treatment is provided for substance use and co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health concerns that may contribute to an individual's substance use disorder.

Clients may access services at BARC in two ways:

  • ​​​Medical Triage Unit for individuals in ​need of medical detoxification, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Admissions Unit for individuals needing a substance use assessment, available 7 days per week from 7AM to 9PM, with the last assessment beginning at 6PM  

Admissions services are located at BARC Central Detox, 325 SW 28th Street Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33315. Appointments for an assessment should be scheduled in advance. Walk-ins will be seen if time permits. 

What We Offer:                                             

  • Individualized assessments administered by licensed and certified clinicians
  • Referrals to appropriate level of care using ASAM PPC-2 criteria for placement
  • Referrals to other community resources
  • Ongoing collaboration with the legal system including reports to probation/parole
  • In-custody assessments through Admission's Criminal Justice Liaison Team

Our Team: 

The Admissions team is comprised of skilled professionals many of whom are Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), or Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW).

​BARC accepts many public, private, and commercial insurance plans. However, if you are uninsured or underinsured, you may qualify for fees on a sliding scale basis.  ​
