Did you lose an item at the airport?
- If you lost an item on an aircraft, in a rental car, or an item that was checked in on a ticketed flight, please contact the airline or rental car company directly. The Lost and Found Office does not accept these items.
Due to the high volume of calls to the Lost and Found Office, we recommend filling out the lost claim form. If your lost item matches with an item that is turned in to the Lost and Found Office, we will contact you.
Items lost at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security checkpoints or in the U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) area are typically turned over to the Lost and Found Office by TSA and CBP the next business day. For example, an item lost at a security checkpoint on a Friday will be turned over by TSA/CBP to the Lost and Found Office on Monday.
Claim items deemed “verified found” or whose ownership is confirmed can be picked up 24/7 at FLL – Lost and Found Office by following the instructions in the confirmation email received from this office within 30 days from their date of loss.
Location
The Lost and Found Office is located in the Rental Car Center on Level 2 across from the Enterprise Rental Car counter next to the elevators.
Disposal of Unclaimed Items
The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport will keep all lost and found items for 30 days starting from the date of loss. After 30 days, the property will be deemed abandoned and disposed of in a manner according to Florida Statutes.
