Did you know that over half of the County's GHG emissions come from transportation? Most residents are required to drive every single day – to work, school, or other activities – burning fossil fuels that pollute the atmosphere and cause more extreme heat, increased rainfall, and stronger hurricanes.
Electric vehicles do not directly emit any GHGs when on the road and are one investment people and companies can make to reduce their carbon footprint. Broward County is developing an Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI) Plan to ensure all residents have access to electric vehicle charging equipment. This plan will identify potential locations for charger installations based on future demand and localized needs while aligning opportunities for funding and partnerships.
