The 14th Annual Southeast Florida Regional Climate Leadership Summit was held on December 8 and 9, 2022, at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale.
Broward County proudly hosted the 2022 Summit in conjunction with our Southeast Florida Regional Climate Change Compact partners.
The Summit brought together innovative thinkers and leaders from business, government, higher education, and nonprofits to exchange ideas and dialogue at panel discussions and networking breaks. Previous Summits have attracted nationally- and internationally-renowned speakers, 750 attendees, and dozens of exhibitors, and highlighted major regional projects and cutting-edge tools.
2022's theme, “Connect. Commit. Act.", focused on the collaboration, shared goals, and significant efforts needed to develop climate and energy solutions, adapt to climate impacts, and build broad-based resilience across our communities.
“Certified Carbon Neutral Event" Carbon emissions generated by this year's Summit will be will be offset though Broward County's Plan-it Green Program.
This local carbon offset program plants trees throughout Broward County, capturing and storing carbon from the atmosphere, as well as helping prevent soil erosion, reduce the urban heat island effect, provide shade and habitat for native species.
