Request for Renewal Letters of Interest ​

In response to the U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Annual Homeless Continuum of Care (HCoC) Program Competition, the Broward County Human Services Department is requesting Renewal Letters of Interest (RLOI) for 2024 HUD CoC Program Renewal. 

ALL AGENCIES WITH EXISTING HUD PROJECTS (Permanent Supportive Housing, Ra​​pid Re-Housing, Transitional Housing and Homeless Management Information System) MUST SUBMIT A RENEWAL LETTER OF INTEREST (RLOI) TO RENEW ITS PROJECT(s) FOR THE 2024 HUD AWARD YEAR. Agencies must submit this letter to the County to be considered for inclusion in the County’s HUD 2024 Notice of Funding Opportunity Collaborative application.  

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS: Only Agencies with an existing HUD Homeless Continuum of Care (HCoC) Program under 24 CFR Part 578 are eligible to submit a RLOI.  Letters for HUD Program Renewal Projects and the two projects in need of sponsorship are limited to two pages. Each letter must be printed on the submitting Agency’s letterhead stationery and include all the following bulleted points to be eligible to participate in the next stage of the County’s application:

  • Applicant agency legal name
  • Name of contact person (who will be coordinating project application)
  • Contact’s telephone number, fax number and e-mail address
  • Identify eligible activities of interest (i.e., permanent supportive housing, transitional housing, etc.)
  • Brief description must include an explanation of the project, in addition to any other eligible proposed components and information, if applicable. 
  • If renewal project wants to request an expansion, this must be part of the RLOI letter.  Please provide the requested amount and a description of the expansion and justification as to reason the expansion is being requested. 

Letters not containing all the mandatory criteria mentioned above or e-mails of information not submitted in accordance with the above guidelines will not be considered for further funding.

Letters of Interest for Project(s) may be submitted no later than Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 5:00 P.M. to the Housing Option, Solutions, and Supports Division, Attn: R. McGuire, 115 S. Andrews Avenue, Room GC310, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301, via hand-delivery and mail.  Letters of Interest may also be E-mailed to rmcguire@broward.org​.  Late submittals will not be eligible for funding consideration. Failure to receive notification from staff is not subject to appeal.

Successful Applicants will be notified by e-mail regarding the next step in the application/proposal process.

The Public Notice reflects the guidelines of the Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing: Homeless Continuum of Care Program Rules 24 CFR Part 578 as published in the Federal Register on July 31, 2012, and effective on August 30, 2012; and Homeless Emergency Assistance and Rapid Transition to Housing: Defines “Chronically Homeless” as published in the Federal Register on December 4, 2015, and effective on January 15, 2015.
