The Florida Bicycle Association wisely chose March as Florida Bicycle Month because, well, the weather's perfect!
Biking is a great way to enjoy our fabulous Florida sunshine and get a little exercise with the whole family. More than a dozen Broward County Parks have paths perfect for recreational biking, two
(Markham Park & Target Range, and
Quiet Waters Park) have mountain bike trails, and one has a velodrome (Brian Piccolo Sports Park & Velodrome)!
In addition,
Central Broward Park & Broward County Stadium offers handcycles available for free on a first-come, first-served basis, and the Special Populations Section has a Tandem Bike Program that teams up sighted volunteers to captain as cyclists who are blind or visually impaired provide additional pedal power.
Broward County Parks and Recreation celebrates Florida Bicycle Month with a variety of events from Bike Rodeos to Scavenger Hunts, from Slow Rolls to Team Races, from free lessons to Kid's Bike Fest!
