​​​​​Attention, disc golfers! Broward County Parks and Recreation prohibits the unauthorized retrieval of discs from bodies of water in our parks. Violators will be immediately suspended and may be banned from ALL Broward County parks. Discs will be periodically retrieved, at the discretion of the individual park, and will be held at the park office for up to 30 days. We will attempt to contact disc owners who provide their name and phone number on the discs.

What do you get when you cross good old-fashioned golf with the sort of flying disc most commonly known as a Frisbee? You get disc golf.

Disc golf may have been invented as long as a century ago, although the modern version of the game started in the late 1960s and has grown to encompass more than 3,000 disc golf courses in the United States and abroad.  

Six of those are located in Broward County parks – at Brian Piccolo Sports Park & Velodrome in Cooper City, Easterlin Park in Oakland Park, Markham Park & Target Range in Sunrise, Plantation Heritage Park in Plantation, Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, and Tradewinds Park & Stables in Coconut Creek. Gamers attempt to traverse a course from beginning to end using the fewest disc tosses. The courses are open free to the public, and you have to bring your own gear, although the park offices provide course maps and score cards. For more information, call:
