After-School Program​

The Broward County Parks and Recreation Division's free After-School Program is for ages 6 to 11 at five neighborhood parks (not available at Boulevard Gardens).​ It provides a nurturing environment for participants to learn, develop, and play. Participants have access to a wide range of experiences, including exposure to the arts and other cultures, sports (both team and individual), field trips, financial literacy, nutrition, physical activity, guest speakers, and much more.​

NewGen Prot
égé Program (For Teens)

The NewGen Protégé Program, for ages 12-17, is available at all neighborhood parks except Boulevard Gardens, and is also offered as part of the Out-of-School-Time programming and provides many of the same opportunities. Additional teen-specific programming such as teen leagues, unique field trips, and life skills development including college tours, job fairs, resume building, financial literacy, and much more.​

Hours: 2-6PM​

Dismissal Daylight Saving Time: 6PM for unescorted participants

Dismissal Standard Time: 5:30PM for unescorted participants

*All participants must be signed out by 6PM

Hours: 9AM-5PM
Early Dropoff: 8-9AM
Late Pickup: 5-6PM

Out-of-School Time/After-School Program 2026

The After-School Program, for ages 6-11, is at five neighborhood parks​. It provides a nurturing environment for participants to learn, develop, and play. Participants have access to a wide range of experiences, including exposure to the arts and other cultures, sports (both team and individual), field trips, STEM activities, personal improvement, New Starz Talent Showcase Festival, nutrition, physical activity, guest speakers, and much more.

(No program on Labor Day, September 1; Veterans Day, November 11; Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving, November 27-28; Christmas Day and the day after Christmas, December 25-26; New Year's Day and the day after New Year's Day, January 1 and 2, 2026; MLK Jr. Day, January 19, 2026; Presidents' Day, February 16, 2026.)

Hours: 9AM-5PM
Early Dropoff: 8AM​
Late Pickup: 6PM
