Over half of Broward County's Communitywide Greenhouse Gas Emissions come from the transportation sector. The majority of our cars, trucks, ships, trains and planes that we use to move people and goods burn petroleum-based fuel. Significant reductions in emissions from the transportation sector will require improvements in fuel efficiency, fuel switching, improvements in operating practices, and an overall reduction in travel demand.
