The Broward County Construction Management Division is working to complete the pre-design phase for a new Southern Regional Courthouse campus. The Pre-Design Study scope of work includes the development of space programming for thirteen (13) Departments, and providing pre-conceptual design massing diagrams based upon the space programming and existing site analysis. Some of the unique pre-conceptual design features include the followng:
Building faces north to harvest northern sunlight and prominently fronts Hollywood Boulevard and South Circle Drive
A central courtyard connects pedestrians, parking garage, employees, and visitors to a single secured point of entry
Parking is adjacent to the Courthouse and accessible to the front entrance without requiring street crossing and with overhead weather protection
Separate entrance may be created for other Broward County Administrative Offices directly accessible from the garage and building entrance courtyard
A pedestrian bridge from the third level of parking provides direct access to designated entrance of Broward County Administrative Offices
This project is being planned as a high energy efficient LEED certified campus with WELL Building Standard principles.
