Veterans Services is part of the Elderly and Veterans Services Division and an agency of the Broward County Human Services Department. Our team of professionally trained Veteran Services Officers are themselves veterans.

We help other veterans and their family members understand and determine eligibility for veteran’s benefits, in order to improve their quality of life. We assist veterans and/or their dependents/family members with filing a variety of benefit claims with Federal Veterans Affairs. Last year, we served more than 11,000 Broward County residents, filed more than 2,500 veteran’s benefits claims and received awards in excess of $12 million on their behalf.

We look forward to assisting you with our free, one-on-one personalized service. We will meet with you and/or your family to understand your military service and unique circumstances. Based on your service and other evaluative factors, we can determine possible eligibility for veteran’s benefits. We are also uniquely qualified to streamline and help you navigate the veteran’s benefits eligibility process, which is complex and challenging.
