Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) has been a part of Broward County's award-winning Public Art & Design Program since 1976.
The airport currently houses over 65 artworks by local, national, and internationally acclaimed artists that are displayed throughout its terminals. The diverse collection includes paintings, photographs, sculptures, mosaic and terrazzo floors, along with video, light, and sound artworks. Three of these works were recognized by the Americans for the Arts Public Art Network's Year in Review, which highlights the best examples of public art in the country. Rotating art exhibitions featuring local artists, youth, and airport employees can also be seen in the airport terminals.
FLL's captivating collection, along with more than 200 public artworks in locations throughout Broward County, creatively reflects the spirit and energy of South Florida and its commitment to the cultural arts.
FLL is located in Greater Fort Lauderdale in the heart of Florida's Gold Coast, and serves approximately 35 million passengers annually. The Aviation Department, FLL's operator, is a self-supporting agency of the Broward County Board of County Commissioners that does not rely on local tax dollars for operations and capital improvements.
