include the following collective bargaining units:
- B - Blue Collar
- D - Unrepresented
- E - Unrepresented
- M - Mass Transit
- N - Unrepresented
- P - GSA Professional

FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) Code
The FLSA Code denotes whether or not the job classification is exempt (“E”) or non-exempt (“N”) from the overtime
provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Employees in exempt classifications work as many hours as
necessary to get the job done. They do not receive overtime, either in time off or in cash compensation. Exempt
employees do receive administrative leave, also known as “admin leave” or “job basis leave”, not to exceed 40 hours
in a calendar year. Employees in non-exempt classifications must receive overtime (either pay or time off) for
hours worked in excess of 40 in a standard work week.
Salary Grade/Living Wage
The Salary Grade denotes the number of the pay grade associated with the classification description.
Employees in benefit eligible full-time and part-time positions shall be paid no less than the Living Wage rate in Broward County as of January 1st of the calendar year.
For employees in benefit eligible positions, the living wage adjustment
will be paid in accordance with the employee’s collective bargaining agreement, if applicable. There are certain
classifications with entry level hourly pay rates that reflect the labor market, but are below that of the current
living wage. Nevertheless, benefit eligible employees in those positions shall be paid no less than the current
living wage. For additional information, review the Living Wage Ordinance.
