Broward County has a new high-speed, full-body, digital X-ray imaging device, which will increase the speed, efficiency and accuracy of autopsies, and help forensic investigators provide more precise information about cause and manner of death. The District 17 Medical Examiner’s Office is the first in Florida and one of only 12 forensic offices in the nation to acquire this state-of-the-art imaging technology, which can record three different views of a person’s body in about 15 seconds.
