​​​​Anywhere it rains, it can flood. Many conditions can result in a flood: hurricanes, overtopped levees, outdated or clogged drainage systems and rapid accumulation of rainfall. Just because you have not experienced a flood in the past, it does not mean you will not experience it in the future.  Knowing your flood risk and being prepared can help keep your family safe and reduce potential damages.

Review real-time canal water level readings at the South Florida Water Management District site.  Click EAST COAST in the top right blue bar, then scroll down to BROWARD CANALS.

Central County

If you are a resident of the Central County areas (Roosevelt Gardens, Washington Park, Franklin Park, and Boulevard Gardens), look for the downstream elevation at the water control structure S33 on the Canal C-12 (North Fork of the New River).

Broadview Park

If you are a resident of Broadview Park, look for the downstream elevation at the water control structure G54 on the North New River Canal.

North County

If you are a resident of the North County areas (Hillsboro Pines and Hillsboro Ranches), look for the upstream elevation at the water control structure G56 on the Hillsboro Canal (click EAST COAST, scroll down to PALM BEACH CANALS).  Additional information regarding water levels in this area are available through the Cocomar Water Control District during normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm) by calling 954-831-0754.
