Mission Statement
The Broward County Environmental Monitoring Laboratory's mission is to design and implement scientific surveys, monitoring programs, and investigations to support agency efforts to better manage and protect county environmental resources, and to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. We are a National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) certified laboratory dedicated to providing quality data and service to protect the environment.

The Environmental Monitoring Laboratory is a state-of-the-art, LEED certified, facility that utilizes the most advanced technology and equipment to provide expert service to the community.
The laboratory analyzes for several parameters in solids, surface and ground waters, including extractable organics, nutrients, metals, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), microbial parameters, and physical properties of the samples.
The Ambient Water Quality program includes 46 sites which are monitored quarterly to determine the overall quality of Broward County's waters.
