Broward County District 5 Commissioner Steve Geller brings over three decades of political expertise to the Broward County Commission.

His record of leadership and public service began 35 years ago in 1988 when he served the people of Broward County as a Florida State Representative. In 1998 he was elected to the Florida Senate, where he would spend the next ten years. In November of 2016 he was first elected to serve the people of District 5 in Broward County and was reelected in 2020 by the Constituents of District 5 which currently includes the entirety of Davie, Cooper City, Broadview Park, and portions of Plantation, Southwest Ranches, and Sunrise.

The Commissioner is a strong supporter of organized labor and holds Building Trades Meetings quarterly year-round. Commissioner Geller has taken the lead in advocating for the growing film and entertainment industry in Broward County and was crucial in creating Broward County's new Film Commission.

He also currently chairs the South Florida Regional Planning Council, the Water Advisory Board, and serves on the Cultural Council in Broward County.
